descent.
The first Somalis arrived in the 1940s, and they
came to New York.
A majority of Somali-Americans arrived during the
wars in their country in the 1990s.
The heaviest concentrations of Somali-Americans live
in the
Twin Cities(mainly
Minneapolis
and
St.Cloud).

Many Somali-Americans also live in
San Diego,

Seattle,

Los Angeles,in
Atlanta,
in
Portland,
in
Denver,
in
Lewiston, ME,
